Important Information regarding the Map and GPX line on this website

26th November 2013

Whilst it is great that we are able to bring you a new website for the Pennine Bridleway with the much awaited map of the Trail, we are experiencing a few teething problems.  Please note that there are places on the map where the route is shown incorrectly, often where the intended line of the route has changed during the negotiation and construction of the route.  We are now checking along the mapped line making corrections.  Where the route has been updated the correct line of the Trail to follow will be shown as a diversion.

The route through the Yorkshire Dales currently shows a loop near the village of Selside.  Please note that the top half of the loop that passes through the village is not part of the Pennine Bridleway and is not all a public right of way so should not be used.  The correct line is the lower half of the loop which avoids having to use the road.

Unfortunately the inaccuracies in the mapping mean that the GPX download of the route is also incorrect.

A single corrected line for the National Trail will be provided as soon as possible.  Apologies for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.
