Flooding update - waters are receding.

25th February 2014

Following the months of wet weather 3 sections of the South Downs Way were under several feet of water. We are happy to report that the waters are now receding in most places. Both the Arun Valley and Cuckmere Valley are now passable, but water levels remain very high around Exton in the Meon valley in Hampshire.

We suggest that all users continue to follow the diversion along Stocks Lane in the Meon valley for the time being. All other diversions have now been lifted.

As the ground water levels are so high the situation on the ground can change by the hour, so although the route is passable, you should expect to find some water and mud and care should be taken.
