Current State of the Thames Path

27th February 2014

If you're thinking of walking the Thames Path in the next week or so we are receiving reports that although the flood waters have receded, some sections are still underwater and others have suffered erosion due to the flooding. At best it will be a muddy walk, at worst it will be impassable. You may find information on the state of a section from local council's individual websites. Some of those sections currently underwater are sections that are underwater on an annual basis, especially upstream of Oxford, and other sections that are currently flooded have a sealed or compacted surface, especially towards Surrey and London.  Therefore, hopefully, many of those sections may not have suffered as badly in the recent weather.
